Guest:
Mark Perman
" Mark has worn many hats over the years. He began his
show business career at the
age of 8 in the sequel to the Broadway musical Hair
called "Dude".Later he performed in the
Tony award winning "Shenandoah" with John Cullum from
1975-'76. In addition to his work as
an actor Mark enjoyed several years in the
broadcast industry having worked with such
industry
giants as Rush Limbaugh and Bob Grant. In 1993 Mark
found his spiritual calling and went off to
Israel to train as a cantor (Jewish sacred singer and
clergy person) which he has been doing ever since.
Mark keeps his hand in the theater having performed most
recently as Otto Frank in "The Diary of Anne Frank",
Tevyeh in "Fiddler on the Roof", as well as in voice
overs and TV/Radio commercials. In addition to his work as
a clergy person Mark is somewhat of an activist having
stood up for various animal protection issues and having
written op-ed pieces that have been published in such
publications as the "Atlanta Jewish Times" and "Backstage".
He is outspoken on issues he is passionate about but
believes in taking more moderate and common sense
approaches to solving problems on a political, social,
and existential level. He is a graduate of New York University,
the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion
and New York City's "famed" High School of Performing Arts.
Mark will soon be living in Avon CT with his two cats
Isabella and Spirit.
