Map Where the President's Were Born

A map, posted to Reddit on Saturday, gives a stark visual presentation of how presidential birthplaces have been concentrated in the eastern parts of the U.S. — especially in Virginia, Ohio, New York and Massachusetts, where more than half of the 43 U.S. presidents were born.

As is noted on the well-sourced Wikipedia page from which Starsy pulled the map’s data, many presidents are associated with states other thanwhere they were born; examples Ronald Reagan was born in Illinois but is typically associated with California, and the Bush family is from the Northeast but typically identified with Texas.
