At the Fountain Hills Tea Party debate  on 9-18-14  John Kavanagh Arizona LD23 senate candidate a member of the audience reported Kavanagh said: he has been a consistent conservative since he was 16 and didn't go through a mid life crisis and become a liberal.

Comment was aimed at his opponent former Republican Paula Pennypacker who changed her registration last year to Democrat .. the women gasped, the men looked nervous and somewhere Russell Pearce smiled. Source
From the audio the "tea party audience was anything but polite or cordial, asking off the wall questions and basically being argumentarive toward Paula.
