Doug Ducey AZ Candidate for Governor Was Chairman On Anti 204 Bill That Would Fund Education

In 2012 after Ducey had been State Treasurer since January 2011 he became Chairman of Proposition 204, a measure on the Nov. 6 2012 ballot, that would make the temporary 1-cent-per-dollar sales tax permanent and direct the proceeds to education, human services and transportation projects."Dark Money Helps defeat bill."
Ducey in his statement said Prop. 204 "would give" Arizona the second-highest sales tax in the country, but the state already has the second-highest sales tax in the country. Prop. 204 proposed to extend the state's temporary 1-cent-per-dollar sales tax currently in effect until June 1, 2013. If Ducey had said Prop. 204 would maintain that ranking, he would have been accurate.
Doug Ducey,as State Treasurer Chairman of the anti-204 effort, said the board also includes Kirk Adams, who became the chair of Americans for Responsible Leadership when Graham stepped aside to become AZ GOP Chairman.
Ducey dismissed questions of whether Arizona voters are entitled to know who provided the $750,000 to his campaign. He said all he and the voters need to know is that the cash came from Americans for Responsible Leadership. "Ducey said, If you want more detailed information beyond that, that really is a question for Americans for Responsible Leadership,”
Another “Dark Money Group” that contributed $260,000.00 to the anti-204 campaign was Arizona Free Enterprise Club Inc.
