Doug Ducey AZ Candidate For Governor Agrees on Appealing Funding for Education

Questions for Doug Ducey on Education:
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Katherine Cooper has issued a judgment in the long-standing lawsuit challenging school funding, requiring the state to boost funding to public and charter K-12 schools by $317 million this fiscal year. First payment is $317 million; bill will total $1.6 billion over five years. AZ Central Video
Why are you advocating continuing an appeal spending taxpayer dollars on
a ruling that has already been handed down, depriving schools of needed funding?

More choices for parents.
Parents need to make the choices that are best
for their children, and should have the option to get their kids out of failing
schools with consistently-poor track records.
1. Arizona leads the nation in charter school excellence and they can be a great alternative.
2. Unfortunately, many of them also have daunting waiting lists. As governor, I will submit legislation to eliminate waiting lists for excelling schools, while advancing
broad and bipartisan reforms to apply the best practices of high-performing
charter and district schools.
Why are you touting Charter Schools over Public?
Why do you support funneling money from public schools to Charter schools, which are independently owned and are for profit?
How do plan on eliminating a waiting list in schools?
State control,  not federal.
I will resist overreach from the federal government, including Common Core, and protect our schools from federal intrusion into the state and local responsibility of public education.
Why are resisting common core standards in public schools, when you send your children to an expensive private school that uses common core. If it’s good for your children, why isn’t it good for Arizona’s children?
