260 Year Old St Andrews Golf Club Votes to Admit Female Members

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland —The Royal and Ancient Golf Club voted overwhelmingly to admit its first female members.
When my Texas family and I visited Scotland, Joe and I played golf at St Andrews it was windy and cold but we preservered so we could say we had been there done that.
We were not aware that women were not allowed as members, we roamed around the grounds and club house at leisure. We made it a stop on our driving tour of Scotland because of the golf course and found a quaint town with winding streets and shops. We weren't aware that St. Andrews was a college town and is Scotland's first university and the third oldest in the English-speaking world, founded in 1413. The town has a lot of history and was well worth our side trip. be
