Sen Paul seems to think it will offend a person to
be asked for ID to vote according to the below comment to the times.

Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, in Memphis for a Republican National Committee meeting, met with a group of black pastors. Joe Buglewicz for The New York Times
Electing
an official to represent the citizens is one of the most important things you
can do as a voter. Presenting a valid ID that shows you are a citizen and have
the right to vote shouldn’t offend anyone. Of course if you are about to commit
voter fraud, you will probably be offended that you are going to be caught.
On May 9, 2014-Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) criticized Republican-led efforts to require
individuals to display voter-identification before being allowed to cast a
ballot in an election, telling the New York Times he thought the issue was
pushing people away from the GOP.
“Everybody’s gone completely crazy on this voter ID thing,” Paul told the Times. “I
think it’s wrong for Republicans to go too crazy on this issue because it’s
offending people.” Saying that the focus on such measures alienates and insults African-Americans and hurts the party.
Does Sen Paul think requiring ID for all of the below
offends? It has nothing to do with race, it’s an everyday occurrence and you know you will be
asked, so dig out your ID and show it.

Asking
for a valid government issued photo ID is not a violation of civil liberties.
