Thanks to Republicans in the State House, Not the Democrat in the White House
PHOENIX – Robert Graham, Chairman
of the Arizona Republican Party, commented on President Obama's layover stop in
Phoenix today to make a speech at Desert Vista High School in
Phoenix.
"President Obama is
trying to take credit for the good economic news coming out of Arizona, but we
all know it's thanks to the economic policies that came out of our Republican
Legislature and were signed into law by our Republican Governor Jan Brewer,"
said Robert Graham, Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party.
"Arizona also has a
balanced state budget and a low-tax and business-friendly environment. We've
cut taxes, we've created jobs, and we're very competitive when it comes to
bringing new business to Arizona."
In 2011 Arizona's Republican Legislature and Governor
passed a large jobs bill and created broad-based tax cuts, and cut overall state
government spending by 30 percent. CNN
Money has called Arizona the number one most entrepreneurial state in the
nation and Chief
Executive Magazine ranked Arizona the sixth most friendly state for
businesses to start and thrive. The Kauffman
Index declared Arizona the premier place for entrepreneurs.
In 2012 Arizona was in the top ten for
growth and is one of the top in the nation for population growth thanks to
people moving here from other states.
"The real news here is that Arizona is showing the
signs of an economic recovery, despite the federal government which has done
nothing more than create economic instability," Graham said. "Credit
should go to our entrepreneurs and business owners, our investors, and to the
voters who elected conservative Republicans to lead our state and put us on the
road to recovery."
