Has the Obama Administration dropped the National Security Ball?

Defense Budget Cut
Fisher
by Dr, Ada Fisher
Those who advocated for an automatic 10% cut in the Defense Budget as part of a scheme to reign in the debt may now be reaping what they sowed. To not have a heightened alert at embassies and critical security points for this nation on September 11th which symbolized one of the worst attacks on this nation, suggests not amateurs but immature unprepared leadership.
The reported recent anti-Mohammed film did not cause the 9-11 African continents’ uprisings but were kindling for the fires which were waiting to burn. India, Pakistan, and many of the more than twenty nations currently rebelling against the USA are those who were at one time involved in colonist expansions by the British and others where democracy was not allowed. In an interesting view from Dinesh D’Souza, creator of 2016: Obama’s America”, this anti-colonialist fervor is exactly what is described.
Malcolm X was roundly criticized for coining the phrase “The chickens come home to roost.” Are we now seeing the fodder from attempts to appease and placate those who are not interested in democracy and who have shunned our belief in this constitutional democratic republic while still taking US foreign aid? Though largely striking the word terrorism from its audible vocabulary, the present administration doesn’t understand the mindset of terrorist—they are not there to negotiate with you, but to destroy you. If you ever forget that or let down your guard, be prepared for your annihilation.
Post Korean Conflict, have we underplayed the intrinsic value of the military? Though roundly criticized for many things, George W. Bush did have an African policy which addressed some of these emerging issues. It is not the role of this nation to give Islamist access to our space programs information as a sense of balancing world interest. We must never bow to kings, potentates or the likes.
In this ‘sweet land of liberty’, we must be prepared to stand for the principles of freedom, liberty and democracy under the US Constitution taking whatever steps are required to secure these for ourselves and others as desired. We cannot become isolationist, but must understand that we will stand by our friends and protect our people wherever they are located in service to this nation.
The unseen hand in many of these uprisings is bigger than religious differences. The high unemployment for young males with too few skills and pent up energy which isn’t being adequately harnessed is a factor in many revolutions. Technology has wiped out too many jobs leaving too many behind. Finding and producing work for those who have limited skills, resources and buy-in to our system of government is the biggest challenge. This will set us up for internal and more external revolutions.
The USA now has a clear choice of direction on the economy for the 2012 presidential elections—Do we begin to fix it now or keep deferring it to future generations who may undergird the same revolution here in uncivil wars on our streets? Romney vs. Obama – the choice is yours.
