WHY DO WE SAY HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY?

Memorial Day should be a day to make a difference...
Not by wishing a Happy Memorial Day, there's nothing Happy about war, or those who don't return.
But by a moment of silence and remember those who did not return.

Today let's pause and remember the men and women who answered the call to serve their country, the decision should not be taken lightly for those fighting for us. That we might live in freedom, offer your gratitude and thankful for the freedoms won–and  who won them.  Let's remember by placing flags on the memorials of the fallen–a tradition rooted in the post-Civil War practice called “Decoration Day”.
President Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
They fought not for land or power, but for an ideas in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence and what it means to be an American: that all men are created equal.
Because of their sacrifice, generations of Americans have been blessed to live in freedom. This Memorial Day, remember the fallen and thank our warriors for their service to our country.
