Update:Plan to reimburse Russell Pearce campaign costs dies...The bill was pulled from consideration in the Senate...

A Hail Mary push to create the legal framework to reimburse recalled politicians for their campaign expenses died on the last day of session, after cronies of former Sen. Russell Pearce failed to arm twist support for the legislation.

The proposal could have paved the way for Pearce to get a reimbursement of more than $260,000 — the amount his campaign spent defending him last year, when he was ousted from the Senate in a recall election. It would also have set a precedent for other elected officials to ask for reimbursement. This bill S.B.1449 was a bad from the get-go, thank the good Lord there were enough responsible legislators that didn't make it the back door.
According to an e-mail sent by a Representative " No, it never came to a vote in the whole Senate, so it's dead for this year. It would have died in the House as well." be###
