On Saturday May 12th an all day 2012 State Convention will be held at Grand Canyon University.
Among the notable attendee's will be Governor Jan Brewer as scheduled speaker. Josh Romney and Members of the Arizona Congressional Delegation and the governor of the Gila River Indian Community will also be speaking.
Purpose of the state meeting is for Delegates at the county and legislative district levels to elect Delegates to attend the August Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida. Where the Republican nominee for President will be selected.
Rumored a big brouhaha is brewing by the Ron Paul supporters...According to sources, the Ron Paul supporters intend to invoke “Rule 38” which states that States and Congressional Districts cannot “bind” their delegates in the case of a second ballot. A Ron Paul supporter posted on Facebook a video of a news report in which “Rule 38″ is discussed, and wrote “sshhhh” to his “friends.”The Ron Paul contingent includes over 100 Arizona Republican delegates. We will see if they all talk and no action on Saturday.
