NEWT'S DANCE WITH FREDDIE AND FANNIE
Newt says: "The fact is, I only chose to work with people whose values I shared, and having people have a chance to buy a house is a value I believe still is important in America."
Does this mean that Newt has the same values as these same top executives, "that the Securities and Exchange Commission announced it had brought civil actions against six former top executives
of both groups, saying they had failed to disclose their firms’ exposure to risky financial moves".

The federal home loan corporation is a government-sponsored group that along with Fannie Mae will cost taxpayers an estimated $154 billion in government bailouts.

If in fact Newt was "advising that Freddie/Fannies practices were doomed to fail as he has stated, should Newt also be brought up on charges for failing to notify the public?
However you spin it the fact remains that Newt Gingrich was paid with taxpayer dollars  in the neighborhood of a $1.8 dollars by Freddie/Fannie. His consistent assertion that I did not lobby is lame, his I gave them advice on historical information is the lamest excuse you can come up with.  Gingrich fired back at Michele Bachmann for insinuating that he lobbied for corporate interests and swapped policies for cash payments. During the Dec. 15 Iowa debate, he stated "unequivocally" that he never made any back-room deals with Freddie Mac. They may not have been made in a "back room" but however you slice it was influence peddling. be ###
