GOVERNOR RICK PERRY TAKES ERIC HOLDER TO TASK..
OVER FAST AND FURIOUS IN WASHINGTON TIMES, OP-ED
During
CNN, Heritage Foundation Republican debate, Perry voiced the need to secure the
border in order to take away the chances of “Iranian-backed
terrorists crossing into the United States from Mexico.” And although he also
spoke of ending the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants coming across that
same border, the mention of the threat from Iranian-backed terrorists struck a
nerve with those who remember the Iranian-backed
plot on the life of the Saudi Ambassador in the U.S.
As
Governor of Texas Perry, has the longest border with Mexico (1200 miles) and
has taken the strongest stance of any governor of a border state to secure the
Texas/Mexico border
Spending over $400 MILLION Texas Tax dollars Perry has the Texas
Rangers, Local Law Enforcement and the Border Patrol along with motion detection
cameras that transmit GPS coordinates back to Austin Headquarters (America's Third War: A New Eye on the Border

A new high-tech,
low-cost camera system is helping to detect illegal immigrants along the
Texas-Mexico border, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety).
Perry a veteran Air Force Pilot is the only presidential candidate with hands on experience in protecting the U.S. border.
In
Monday's op-ed in the Washington
Times, Perry took EricHolder to task:
Holder’s
proclaimed ignorance [of Fast and Furious] leaves Americans to draw one of two
conclusions: Either he is guilty of extraordinary bureaucratic incompetence or
he is guilty of a cover-up meant to shield him from the consequences of an
operation that has left at least one federal agent dead and continues to
imperil many more.
Perry
then added: “Either way, it is high time for Mr. Holder to step down. If he
refuses to resign, Mr. Obama must fire him immediately.” (The governor joins 52 House members calling for Holder’s
ouster.)
Perry
may not win in Iowa, New Hampshire, or South Carolina, what it does mean is
that he sounds the way he did in August (when you add these things with his policies
to Uproot and Overhaul Washington, Jobs and a call for a 20% flat tax). Sounding like a Perry who's got
the strength of character to do what he promises.
