         HONORING ARIZONA LEGISLATORS
Thursday night myself and a friend were guest of Arizona GOP Chairman Tom Morrissey at the gala event attended by over 300 people. We missed Obama's speech but it was well worth it. The room was filled with upbeat congenial conversation and the speeches were all excellent. AZ Corporation Commissioner Brenda Burns was the Mistress of Ceremonies.
Governor Brewer congratulated the legislators on their joint achievements this last session and added little humor. Senator Russell Pearce as always was serious about future legislation. Speaker Andy Tobin speech added a homey touch to his by comparing Republicans around a family dinner table some agreeing and some not but still together as "family". What can I say about Secretary of State Ken Bennett but I wish they had given us a copy of the ditty penned and sung as he played his guitar (I don't know if it was a Gibson).
The star speaker of the evening was Chairman Tom Morrissey who gave an excellent sincere speech about the goals for 2012. The former US Marshall seemed a lot more comfortable speechifying than he had in his first couple of speeches after his election.

Starters was making our way into the VIP Reception to find out it was all stand up no chairs in the room,  Carole and I drug up a couple of chairs in the hall outside  the VIP room grabbed a bag of popcorn from the bar got couple of drinks and had a chin wag with all of the VIP attendees as they went in to get their drink and picture taken. We got so wrapped up schmoozing with everyone we forgot to get our picture taken with the Governor.
Chairman Morrissey seated us behind the Governors table with Don Goldwater Chairman of the Pachyderm Coalition, his wife Lisa, Leona Johnson President of AFRW, Former State Representative Laura Knaperek, State Representative Eddie Farnsworth, Chairman Maricopa County Republican Committee Rob Haney and two ladies who drove down from northern Arizona for the evening.
Kudos to Senator Lori Klein she put it all together..Now I'm going to do a fashion thing, Lori looked absolutely great in a little black St. John number trimmed in bling. She promised if/when I can get into a size 6, it's mine. A promise I'm sure she will never have to keep, I haven't been size since I was 25.
I have to admit I used some of the time to schmooze to get guest for my radio show Hair on Fire. Don Goldwater is going to be a guest on September 28th and Senator Russell Pearce and Phoenix Mayoral candidate Wes Gullett said they would in October.

The end of the evening was comedy routine with me being the star act. When we left I ended up at the wrong car. I've got my keys out pushing the remote and the door wouldn't open, then I looked over and bird had done it's number 2 on the hood...I'm yammering about the bird doo, Carole said and you didn't even park under a tree.. Turns out it wasn't my car. Then the lights went on in my car two spots down, thank goodness Carole heard the doors unlock and we LOAO all the way to Carole's. Her remedy is I can't have A glass of wine.. Ye had to be there..be###
