                                                        Charles..with love..
Charles Long
A very dear platonic male friend [Charles] of mine lives by this advice.
He recently went to spend the summer in Washington State and our communication has evolved around the weather among other topics. He not crazy about rain and in a recent e-mail when he lamented about the amount of rain..I sent him a message it was time to head south to follow the sun..
His reply...I made a commitment to stay the summer and do some minor repairs to cabin, with the below message attached. Isn't it a shame not everyone follows  his four basic rules for life. be ##
(1) Be impeccable with your word (Even if others aren't. There is no truer test of human character)
(2) Don’t take anything personally (People do what they do for their own reasons and your welfare is low on their priority list)
(3) Don’t make assumptions (Things are not always what they seem and it's easy to jump to conclusions based up on your own prejudices)
(4) Always do your best (Even if others don't. At the end of the day, it's your own face you see in the mirror)
