STAY OUT OF HEALTHCARE

Need surgery? Need drug therapy? Under Obamacare, tough luck!
Only Washington bureaucrats will decide if you will get the treatment you need!

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid claim that Obamacare won't deny coverage or ration health care. They are also counting on you not reading their bill!
Many Americans are concerned that the federal government will use so called "comparative effectiveness research" to ration care or deny coverage. When House Democrats introduced their health care reform bill, H.R. 3200, the bill allowed for "comparative effectiveness research" in section 1401. Read the section for yourself starting on page 510.
To prevent comparative effectiveness research from being used to ration or deny care, Republicans offered an amendment to the bill during the August Commerce Committee markup of the bill. The amendment reads as follows:

In no case may any research conducted, supported, or developed by the Center for Comparative Effectiveness Research, the Comparative Effectiveness Research Commission, or the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research be used by the federal government to deny or ration care" [Emphasis added].

Sensitive to the concern of Americans about rationing care, Democrats accepted this amendment, and it was adopted by a voice vote.
Are you shocked they listened to Republicans expressing the concern of Americans? Don't be. This amendment was silently stripped behind closed doors by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and is no longer in the bill. Why would she remove language ensuring that comparative effectiveness research will not be used to deny or ration care? Because she knows comparative effectiveness research will be used to deny and ration care.
Here's what you'll read in the latest copy of Obamacare (H.R. 3962):

"Nothing in this section shall be construed to make more stringent or otherwise change the standards or requirements for coverage of items and services under this Act."
If you don't want your health care rationed, you must speak up now. Send this to everyone on your email list. Call or email every member of Congress you can think of who might be on the fence, and, if you can, visit their office this week, and tell them you do not want this legislation.
